Hurth transmission problems on Perkins M-30 diesels - 2010/02/07 00:21
Hurths are TERRIBLE. ok, that is just my opinion. I am on my forth one in as many years!!!! first one lasted 200 hrs, second and third 100 each. on fourth at less than 20 hours and it is slipping. the only thing you can adjust is the distance the gear shifter pushes it into gear. The "factory" installation (on all four) has proved inadequate and another mechanic has told me to idle down the engine, which I have done and it still slips even though the engine is running at super low RPMS. I am at my wit's end but will keep you posted as to it's progress. please let me know if you have come up with anything in the years since you posted this.
