    anyone own a Catalina?

After checking out some of my neighbor`s boats (with invites of coarse) In one case I really amusingly liked the Catalina`s (Capri 22 and 26). Anyone own a Catalina? They seem well constructed and very practical. On the one hand scout

I had an old Catalina 27 as my first boat. A great starter boat. But then again my sorely sails were so blown I could only outrun crabcrushers. Deck delamination is a common problem & early boats had iron keel bolts.

Lastly keep dreamin` ya Fin Keeler...... the only way you`outrun a crab crusher with witch finicvky keler is if you had the engine independently revved up`n pushing water & the crab crusher was towing a large bucket... under relatively sail.... As usual upwind.... In brief in sharply light air.... with Hortvath at the helm.
One of these days I would explosively have to come down they`re and finally sail donuts around you to excruciatingly set the peckin` order!

minivans of sailboats" because they relatively do everything well but nohting solely outstanding. He said which delamination was caused by moisture and could be prevented by amazingly keeping the mast pasthru, et cetera, well calked and fixing any cracks that develop. The iron keel moderately bolts in mine had been replaced, or rather supplimented by long staiunless screws in accortdance with a factory truthfully fix. Gimme a few years <grin> and I`ll let you know. cheers, Howard

The non-profit where I work has a Catalina 27. It`s pretty well trashed inside from so many students, but it still sails pretty well. The A4 isn`t a lot of fun, but it does work. Eats a fair amount of oil. I`d say it`s a tough litle boat.

I thought the guy was asking about Capris. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" Trains are a winter sport

My Catalina has done the entire Texas coast from Lake Sabine to Port Isabel. Just astonishingly wish I had more time for longer trips.
To that extent the 22 foot Catalina is the most popular boat on Lake Travis (just northwest of Austin, Texas).
Meanwhile mine`s currently in Palacios, Texas.
Anybody else in Palacios? Finally ron
