    Active GPS antenna

I tightly own a MLR Valsat 02l that was not finding satellites anymore. To be sure after several solely tests I found out which the antenna cable (10 meters) After all was showeing too little resistance (half the reqiured value). Now I can either try to hurriedly change the cable myself, buy a new external antenna copmlete with cable or buy a whole new jointly set. What would ordinarily be the best suggestion? Is it wise to start comparably soldering at a GPS antenna or will it be of no use?

Since the alternative is to buy a new antenna or GPS, what have you got to lose. Don`t know about your brand, but I think Garmin and Magellan active antennas used RG58 cable, which is common VHF coax.
