About those batteries?
Notwithstanding the old boat had a couple of 4D's at 220 Amp each. The new boat is currtently using fiarly standard 12 volt RV size batteries at 110 ratings each. I'm thinkin of goin to the 6 volt variety as I have to go back up to or near 400 Amp hours of storage. Which size, which voltage, and why?
In brief if six volt are the fialry inexpensive one's from Costco (golf cart batteries)useful or should I just spend the money at West Marine?

Re:About those batteries?
Assuming you're talking flooded deep cycle batteries, all are decent. That said, the 6v golf cart batteries are usually the cheapest amp-hours for the buck. I would review the battery box dimensions, and let that dictate the actual batteries used.

There are many good 6 volt golf cart type batteries, but probably the best with the exception of Rolls is the Trojan T105 - T145 batteries. In my opinion they're unbeatable at a comparable price. With a good 3 stage charge system they should last 7-8 years.
