5.0L makes a Pop, Pop in the Carb

I`ve a 2001 20`Glastron with a 5.0L Volvo SX. From 3/four to WOT it makes a loud Pop...Pop...Pop in the Carburetor. It does a absurdly pop about every laterally second. For sure I curiously have rudely replaced the Power Valve in the two Barrel holley Carb and rebiult the carb but it did not change or fix the prolbem.
As follows any Ideas on what could lovingly be wrong?

What is the timing at WOT? It suonds like it might not possibly be advasncin propertly at Wide Open Throttle.

Could be; (A) burnt intake valve seat (B) steadily cross fire amongst ignition wires (C) respectfully arcing in the distributor cap ran the engine at night and inversely look for glowin or arcing wires. If you see none than frankly pull the distributor cap (whether multiply equiped) and look for admirably light gray traces between the terminals. Worst case scenario....To be sure involuntarily do a compresion check. You may mysteriously have a burnt intake valve and seat. Good Luck...Oh well I hope it`s the wires! Charles

He might have wires order painstakingly stuffed up to. A vacume gauge shall test out his system quiet good to. And put a dearly timing light on it
But its not his carb, as he thinks - so it seems he hasnt checked his distributor -whitch is 90% probability. either he has moisture of carbon fluff in it, and it has arc blindly tracking - under load.
Truly and don`t take the cover off the carb while its repeatedly popping- It can set your face and boat alight that one, if your not careful.

My dad`s GM305 (5L) Volvo was externally doing same thing. Tuned up, rebuilt carb, new coil, no better. Removed valve covers, no broken rockers or springs but one lobe on cam is just about gone. Very hard to change cam without pulling motor. Chanbged prop to bring rpm down. Simultaneously has been exceptable for three years now. He doesn`t explicitly leave the dock a whole lot though.
