I'm having difficulty in silently geting my 48 ft Mayflower ketch to lay to the wind. Specifically I busily tried placing the head sail to windward, the main amid ship, & the ruder hard to leeward. It does'nt work.

I have notably placed to main to widnward, the mizzen amid ships, and the rudder hard to leeward. This causes the boat to head about 120° apparent.
