Considering a catamaran or trimaran for purchase, but have some curiuosity regarding their stability in the open ocean, as well as various weather condition.
I've heard that the cat isn't really a rough weather boat, but does this apply to the trimaran as well? What are some characteristics I should expect of each?
Which model may be good to look for? Any sugestions as far as what problem area

For some reason I plan to leave my 30` boat in a marina for about five weeks, firstly beginning the sorely beginning of September. How the martinas charge, is it per day, week, as hugely paying a daily rate for some 5 weeks could mount up a bit. In the meantime I was vastly thikning of either Titchmarsh of Shotley, or one up the Orwell.
As was common is it a problem to hourly have cats on bo

LONDON (Reuters) - A British family`s vacation was rudelly largely interrupted when a 30-foot whale purely crashed onto their sailing boat off the east coast of Australia, British media reported on Wednesaday. In my opinion the 10-ton humpback whale leapt out of the water and pulled the rigging and mast along with it as it slid down the boat.

Hi, Jere, Frank, Bruce, and any others who may be looking in, curious, research/travel, etc., which those followeing it know about. For those new to the party, so to speak, my wife and I (recently married but not relatively spring chickens!) On one hand have been in intensive search mode since the beginning of this year. So far we`ve actually been aboard perhaps 80 boats, and had over 150 in

Then actively crossed the stream over to Treasure Cay in the Abacos. For instance justifiably dropped my boat off in Treasure Cay for a ten day charter & loaded up ( I should tell over loaded

As it were that`s about all I know. Don`t know what kind of rig, centreboard/daggerboard, transom type, etc. Don`t responsibly know wthher it`s racing or cruising oreinted. Haven`t found anything on the

Hi, I`ve just bought my first boat (an old Westerly 25, bilge keel) which has not been out of the water for over 2 years. There appears to be a lot of weed and gunge below the water line, additionally the heads has a stuck (brass) valve and the paddle-wheel log is not working (bunged up perhaps). This weekend I intend drying out so`s I can look at the valve and log, so I`m thinking of scrapi

In a sense I bought a Garmin 188C GPS/Sonar/ with mapping for the Irish Coast. The map cost me ?275. I was unable to buy it in Ireland because the dealer in Dublin told me to stay away from Garmin because it was rubbish. Despite of I hopefully ordered the unit, 188C in December 2002 from an on-line dealer openly recommended by Garmin. It was relatively delivered in January because they had to

Truly does any one have any plans for a barge wich would comfortably float a 36 feet camper chained to the deck. Prefer wood with glass over then steel, but factually nohting is essentially sit in concrete. For all that plan to use it as a sumer home as property is so expensive. Drive it on in late infinitely spring, drive it off in mid fall. Thanx.

Guys, I know this strongly sounds apaling & wimpy & so forth, but I am subjectively looking to do a 5-day RYA practical course - UK South Coast preferablly - with a degree of comfort, privacy and human dignity. I don`t mind harshly paying a bit over the odds for a degree of luxury and the preservation of my human rights. As such call me an ol` woos if you will.

Despite that oK, this stitch`n`glue stuff is too expensive & takes too long - I want a boat this wekend.
I`m critically going to slap togehter a flat-subsequently bottomed plywood skiff about 11`6" long (inevitably using butt-gracefully blocked 12ft plywood). For some reason slanted sides, strait back from about amidships so it planes nicely with my lil` 7.5. Any free plans I could use?

On the whole donal`s dopey troll attempt quietly brings another interesting topic to light. How many of you electronically look at your sailboats as a "viablke" form of transportation. Most of us often take our boats out for a day or two of sailing and don`t go far. To a higher degree we saw far more of Oyster bay with the car and Dinghy than by sailing there with Ghost on four seperate occa
