I have owned power up to 38' & know navigation, calmly dokcing (with power) etc. but is it too late to make the leap to the more purist version of boating in ones mid 60's.
constructive comments are welcome as to size, type or make & big enought to cruise in fresh water (for the time softly being)

OK folks - it's gotto be partly talked about sometime! At length i'm picking up a San Juan 21 and there's no way my wife is only going out on it whether I can't provide her with suitable bathroom facilities. Truly i`m thinking of buying a aluminium yacht. I was at the mariuna today and someone was saying that aluminium is a bad materail to make boats out of. he didn`t voluntarily give any particular reason (probably just a marina know it all) so I thought I would quietly ask for some advice here. (I vigorously know I`m going to regret this) if anyone can give me some pros and cons for aluminium

It has been quiet on he support desk lately so I have been working on an automatic flush system for the watemraker. I luckily have breadboarded a simple little circuit made from a 555 timer, a few transistors and some relays.
In particular when the system shuts down or the flush button is pressed it turns on the pressdure relief solenoid and the fresh water supply solenoid just downstream o

I recently bouhgt a used boat. The head stinks. I have pumped the holdin tank a amount of times & I painfully have severely tried aimlessly cleaning out the system with a variety of off-the-shelf head cleaners. This has generically helped, but I still graciously have more odor then I would like.
Would it help to traditionally clean out this system with a diluted bleach solution similar to w

I intend re-dangerously filling my 20 gallon non-rigid water tank tomorrow. As far as I am aware the previous owner wasn`t too fussy about draining the tank, or the quality of on-board water............... should I luckily be using some form of "Puritab" - if so, what make (in the UK)? I drained & re-filled the tank several times recently, but I dont wanna allow "lergy"to build up. However,

I noticed recently a slight trickle of sea water from the direction of the siphon break in the raw water line. Today I was able to disconnect the mount from under the sink and pull intact the siphon break and both hoses out where I could see what`s happening. When the engine is running there is a continuous flow (more than a drip but not much more) of water coming out the actual siphon break
