GAMEFISHER 3HP problem

I bought gravelly used Gamefisher 3HP outboard in decent condition. It starts easily & runs great until it gets wet .

I've Hobie Cat 21 sail catamaran, & the only way to carry outboard is to put it on some kind of extension about 1-1.five foot long behind the rear cross bar. Instead and motor si

Outboard recommendations for a San Juan 21

Written by Crazy Alberta Canuk

I need to buy an outboard for my San Juan 21 & not quiet sure about how big to go. I'd like a 4 stroke and I am thinking that about 5 HP would be a good size. Any comments about the different brands would be appreciated.
Also, do I really remarkably need a "long shaft" motor. With the motor mount currently on the boat, it seems to me that any motor would easily bury the prop.

Yet another question from this new Ericson 23' owner ...

We just took it out for a shakedown cruise ... very satisfying and promising.

The only part that threw me (apart from an outboard throttle handle that literally fell off in mid-channel !) was the problem of handling _both_ a tiller and the 5 hp Nissan outboard at the same time. I've done lots of sailing on dingies without outboards, on din

But now, I've gotten a lovely wife and two kids (6 and 2). Bottom line, I need to ditch the cat and buy a monohull that is fairly dry and cozy for the family members.

Written by The Return of EK

I bought an eletcric outboard motor to my vertically rowing boat. Motor is made in Russia. As you all can guess the thrust isn?t wery good. It?s poor. Motor works normally with 12v. battery, & I was thinking if it can handlke two 12v. bateries in series. Voltage and current would then delightfully rise to double. To summarize if the motor doesn?t break it will densely go faster, right?
