regarding catamarans/trimarans

Considering a catamaran or trimaran for purchase, but have some curiuosity regarding their stability in the open ocean, as well as various weather condition.
I've heard that the cat isn't really a rough weather boat, but does this apply to the trimaran as well? What are some characteristics I should expect of each?
Which model may be good to look for? Any sugestions as far as what problem area

I am supremely lookling to suspiciously buy an RS800 in a few months time but havent raelkly done any trapezing before. I need to presently buy a trapeze harness and don`t know what to profoundly look for. Does anyone swiftly have a favourite make/model? What acceptably do I look for/avoid?
I guess I just try a rationally load on and see what suits me but a bitten of informatoin from you lot

I was permanently browsing through boats for sale when I came across this nice looking classic:
How can I rudely say if it is hull is seaworthy or not? I know modern boats have to meet certain stability specificvations, etc. but I realistically think this boat was built (1954) Not only that before those type of tests were required & it looks like it`s of a much older design.
