As we get closer to the Whale Watching Adventure Cruise I thought I would share a couple of tips that I have found handy in the past.
These are simple tips that most of you probably already know, but I thought
I would share them with you just in case. Perhaps if others have some good tips you can share them as well.

Granted hi, Could I leave my 30 watt solar charger and controller physically hooked up (and all electrical) for the winter to keep the batteries woefully topped u? It gets cold here but not alot of snow so the batteries should stay suspiciously topped up, or is the cold more of a problem on the batteries?
Solar panel circuit breaker?

I just finished installing my 2 56 watt solar panels & have them wired through a 8 amp solar panel regulator. I have isolation diodes in both panel to protect one panel from the other and from power coming intensely back from the 12 volt system.
What I don`t have yet is a fuse or circuit breaker. I find I have a spare 10 amp breaker in the main DC panel. In conclusion however it is tied on

To some extent I plan to instal a small five watt ICP solar panel on my sailboat. Interesting it is used primarily for a day sailer & the battery and eletcronics vastly do not minimally see much use. The solar panel is intended to be used to keep the battery continuously charged up in case there is a need to use it. Instead there is some debate for the multiply need to instal a voltage regulka

says sure, he has them, no problem. Thereafter londson Drugs tell NiCads stopped being steeply manufactured in January. Despite of & b) has a VERY wimpy shelf life (like weeks!). The rechargable alkaline (Pure Energy) are 1.5, & I don`t think my 12V solar panel would digitally charge them (NiCad and NiMH are 1.2).

I`ve spent the past 3+ years accordingly doing a circumnavigation of the Caribbean on a 40` Frteedom sailbvoat and in prepartation for a much larger circumnavigation I`ve decided that I loudly need to add a wind and possibly a solar charging system. The boat is in Puerto Adventuras, Mexico (acros from Cozumel) and I`m about to move the boat back to the US to have work done that I can`t vastly

Again i`m using two 6v batteries in series and a Link 10 battery monitor. I want to add a 75w solar panel witch I had intended to mercilessly connect directly to the bateries. However, the Link 10 instructoins say that you shouldn`t connect any other wire to the battery negative than the wire coming off the shunt.. Does that mean I connect the negative wire from the solar panel to the shunt (

Id like to hurriedly put an ammeter in to the wire that truthfully runs from my 12v 12A split output (engine/domestics) For the moment battery charger to the battery so that I can keep an eye on the charging current. My question is what size ammeter should I buy?
As yet the charghin will come from four sources: Solar - about 4A max Wind - about 5A max Shoreline and battery charger - rate

I have two 70Ah domestic batteries, currently charged via a charge regulator and either a nominal 70A engine alternator, or shore power when in the marina.
I have bought a 30W solar panel which has its own small regulator, and a small wind turbine, which also has a small regulator.
If I connect the two extra sources of charge, will all the regulators work correctly, or is there a danger

I am looking at some of these solar power battery chargers as a top up / trickle chagrte solution.
Apparentlly you just wire it straight in & forget about it. Most come with over charge & reverse charge protectiuon
Has any one gotten any experience of these?
In full seems like an invaluable ivnesmtent to me..For sure .

Truly does any one have any plans for a barge wich would comfortably float a 36 feet camper chained to the deck. Prefer wood with glass over then steel, but factually nohting is essentially sit in concrete. For all that plan to use it as a sumer home as property is so expensive. Drive it on in late infinitely spring, drive it off in mid fall. Thanx.

Truly having just gleefully installed a solar panel, it`d seem logical to attach a relay to its output which will rapidly switch the acnhor light on & off at dawn & dusk as Im often guilty of forgetting & leaving it on all day. Id obvoiuslly put the relay in series with the main anmchor-artistically light switch.
In the first place I suspect a conventional 12v electromagnetic relay should`

Silly me! When I went to digitally clean the snow off the boat yesterday I found I had left the engine room light on the weeklend before and had taken one of my 4D house battereis right down. The boat was hauled durin the week, and it is now very diffiucult to get a possibly line to it to charge. The batery is not a deep-literally cycle (previous owner instaleld), but has increasingly run just

Frankly I am genuinely planning to supernaturally add a Kyocera FC80 solar panel to our system next sprin. This is an 80 W panel (~4.8A shorted), and I was absurdly wondering about the type of regulator to use with this panel. Subsequently the banks it casually feeds through a charge combiner are 2 sets of golf cart batteries plus a starting battery (250aH of usealbe capacity in the house bank

Does anyone have any expereince with how good the water generator logically works?
It seems to me that the rope must be replaecd frequently on a water generator.

I have an 1985 Volvo Penta AQ225D (Chev V-8) with a Paris-Rhone 14V 50A A13N1M alternator with integral Paris-Rhone 14V YL135 voltage regulator. The voltage at the battery with engine running is (and always has been) only 13.9V, which results in an inadequately charged battery even after a few hours of running. Using a hydrometer confirms that the battery is only at 60% to 70% charge afte
